September’s advocacy meeting was full of wonderful surprises! Our biggest surprise being a visit from MMA fighter Virgil Zwicker of Bellator! We were so blessed that Virgil took the time to come to our meeting and introduce himself. Virgil was raised on the San Pasqual Indian Reservation as one of twelve children. Virgil shared with Care-Rite that he got into a lot of trouble when he was younger however he was able to overcome his circumstances by redirecting himself into professional fighting. With this Virgil shared his most valuable advice: “Never fight outside of the cage.” His inspiring story touched every individual at Care-Rite, and sent the message to never give up! Virgil was truly wonderful and ensured that he took the time to greet every individual who came to him. We even got to include him in our annual Care-Rite family portrait! Our family portrait is important to us because it shows just how close we all are despite our size!
